Healthful fun! Vittel is for healthful outdoor and indoor activities.

The historic thermal spa is set in a spacious, gracious park dotted with grand buildings, some of them designed by Charles Garnier, architect of the famous Palais Garnier (Paris Opéra).

Strolling through Vittel

Starting at the Hôtel de Ville (City Hall) opposite the Gare de Vittel (train station) in the town center, cross the street (Place de la Marne) and enter the station through its neo-classical portal for a look at its Art Deco main hall (1926).

Vittel's Office de Tourisme is in the east wing of the station, entered through the main hall. It organizes numerous activities for visitors. More...

Leave the station, turn left and walk downhill on Place de la Marne to the Square Robert Hossein traffic circle (map). The Rue de Verdun, to the right, is Vittel's commercial street, with shops, cafés and other services.

Admire the little Art Deco chocolatier to the left by the railroad overpass, originally the public toilets, but now serving a higher-class function.

Turn left and walk beneath the railroad overpass on Avenue Bouloumie, past the great Continental building, once a grand hotel, now partly rental apartments/flats, with a wing dedicated to the Hôtel Mercure Vittel. More...

Continue straight on to enter the Club Med Vittel Le Parc, the full summer resort; or walk right just before the resort entrance to enter the Parque Thermal, which is open to all, along the Avenue du Casino walking path.

On your left is the Palais des Congrès (convention center), beyond it the Grand Hotel with its Grand Escalier (stairway), the Grand Galerie, Source des Demoiselles, Palmarium, and the Pavillon de la Grand Source.

Among all these grand institutions are smaller chalet-style villas, churches, pavilions, and a rose garden, all in the gracious, self-conscious spa resort style.

Club Med Vittel Le Parc

The all-inclusive, family-friendly Club Med spa resort offers golf, tennis, swimming, gymnasiums, walking trails, bicycle paths, archery, fitness, and other physical pleasures in 600 hectares (1,483 acres) of grounds, parks, forests and facilities.
