Angers is well laid out for a visit of a night or two: many hotels are located just outside the door of the city's main train station, the Gare d'Angers Saint-Laud SNCF, which is also the location of most car-rental offices.
Hotel Search MapNear the Train StationGet off the train, exit the Gare d'Angers Saint-Laud, and you'll find several good hotels right opposite the station. We've stayed comfortably and thriftily at the friendly, family-run 3-star, 29-room Hôtel de Champagne, but the 3-star, 41-room Hôtel Le Progrès would have been a good choice as well, as would the 2-star, 45-room Citotel de l'Universe and the 3-star, 52-room Grand Hotel de la Gare. The thrifty 2-star, 25-room Hôtel Iena is only one block north of the train station.
