France Travel Planner by Tom Brosnahan & Jane Fisher   Train Station Gare SNCF de Tours

The main train station in Tours is on the place du Maréchal Leclerc, 1 km (6/10 mile) southeast of the place de la Résistance.

(Note that TGV trains do not use the Gare SNCF de Tours. They arrive and depart from the Gare de St Pierre des Corps, 3 km (2 miles) east of the Gare SNCF de Tours. A shuttle bus service (navette) connects the two stations.)

Near the station, a good selection of hotels in all price ranges provides lodging for travelers.

The eurolines bus station and the Office de Tourisme are just to the north of the Gare across the garden-like place du Maréchal Leclerc. Look for the spaceship-like convention center (Centre International de Congrès de Tours), then to the right for the tourist office, and just past it, along rue Bernard Palissy, for the bus ticket office.
