As you travel around France, if you're interested in museums and other cultural events, you probably notice that you're spending quite a bit of money on admission fees. The Nice area offers two options for saving some money, and you might want to consider one of these. The Nice Museum Pass costs just 15 euros and provides free access to a dozen municipal museums in Nice. I recently bought one and used it at the Musée Masséna (individual price 10€), Palais Lascaris (5€), Musée Matisse (10€), and the Archaeology Museum (5€). I saved 15 euros, and that was just in two days! If I'd had another day, I could have visited other museums, such as the Beaux-Arts or the Modern and Contemporary Museum. Although you can buy the Nice Museum Pass on line, you can also easily get it at any of the participating museums. To buy on line, click here. I bought mine at the Musée Masséna, quick and easy. If you are interested in museums and other recreational activities, consider getting the French Riviera Pass, which offers access to over 60 sites and activities. You can buy it for one, two, or three days, and you can also add a transportation option to cover the same time period of your pass. Consider your schedule and see if a French Riviera Pass makes sense to you. In addition to the municipal museums, it covers the Musée National Marc Chagall, Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, and several other museums in Nice and the surrounding area. Beyond museums, the French Riviera Pass also covers activities such as the Tourist Train, several different boat trips in the area, brief scooter, bike, or paddle board rentals, a couple of aquariums and marine centers, a tour of the Russian Orthodox Cathedral, and even a serving of socca (chickpea flatbread, a specialty of Nice)! If you're interested in these activities, the pass may be just what you need. It's great to have these two options to help you save a little money while enjoying Nice!
