Stay in a Château

Our favorite place to stay here is the fine Château de la Marjolaine, a gracious country house with lawns and gardens stretching down to the banks of the River Marne. Located in the hamlet of Aulnois in the town of Essomes-sur-Marne 5.3 km (3.3 miles) south of Place Jean de la Fontaine in Château-Thierry, it is surrounded by champagne vineyards and features the wines of these very vineyards in its excellent dining room. Most central of the city's hotels is Le Jardin des Fables, at the foot of the château hill near Place Jean de la Fontaine and the Hôtel de Ville, walking distance to everything in the city center.
