Having spent the morning wandering through the amazing collections of the Musée Guimet, with art from Southeast Asia, India, China, Korea, Japan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, the Himalayas, and more, I was ready for lunch. I was happy to find a small informal restaurant on the lower level (garden level) of the Museum. In deference to its locations, many of its offerings are Asian or Asian-themed, such as Thai soup, dim sum, spring rolls, yakitori, and even Thai rice cake for dessert. In addition, the menu offers an assortment of French dishes, ranging from quiche to fresh fish, pasta, duck, pork, and more. I opted for the Salade Royale, a combination of lettuce, shrimp, pineapple, chicken, and nuts. It was a simple meal, and very satisfying, giving me the energy boost I needed to continue visiting the museum. I also enjoyed a Kir (blanc-cassis), white wine with black current liqueur. There were several salad plates for 11.40€ each. In addition, the Menu "Route de la Soie," or Silk Route Menu, was available for 17.90€ (main dish plus either appetizer or dessert), and the Menu Guimet, with all three courses, was 20.30€.
