France Travel Planner by Tom Brosnahan & Jane Fisher   Covered Market, Nîmes, France
I love markets, and the one in Nîmes was deightful.

French markets offer such a feast for the eyes, nose, and ears. Beautiful produce, unusual cuts of meat and poultry that you won't find in a supermarket, arrays of hundreds of cheeses, artful arrangements of vegetables, and much, much more.

  Olives, Nîmes market, France

We happened on the covered market of Nîmes and spent a delightful time there admiring all of the offerings. I was particularly attracted to the vast vats of olives. These are green, but there was plenty of variety.

The Nîmes market is right in the center of town, just a few minutes walk from the Maison Carrée. You can stock up for a picnic or just admire the offerings.
