France Travel Planner by Tom Brosnahan & Jane Fisher   Transport for Saint-Malo, France
Train takes you quickly to Saint-Malo. If you're in England, you can take a ferryboat across the English Channel to Saint-Malo.

The Gare de Saint-Malo SNCF, the transport center of the Saint-Malo region, is a 1.6-km (1-mile), 25-minute walk southeast of the Office de Tourisme and the Place Chateaubriand within the walls (Intra-Muros).

The station serves TER regional trains connecting Saint-Malo with Rennes, and TGV trains to and from Paris (Gare Montparnasse).

The gare is also the regional Gare Routière (bus terminal), with buses to Cancale, Dinan, Dinard, Pontorson (for Mont Saint-Michel) and Rennes.

Walk northwest from the Gare along Avenue Louis Martin through the port and soon you'll see the Porte Saint-Vincent medieval city gate into the walled city. On the other side of the Porte Saint-Vincent is the Place Chateaubriand (map).

Ferryboats docking at the Saint-Malo Naye Ferry Terminal just to the south of Intra-Muros (the historic walled city) connect Saint-Malo to Portsmouth and Weymouth/Poole in southern England, and the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey in the English Channel (La Manche).
