TrainThe Gare de Saint-Malo SNCF, the transport center of the Saint-Malo region, is a 1.6-km (1-mile), 25-minute walk southeast of the Office de Tourisme and the Place Chateaubriand within the walls (Intra-Muros). The station serves TER regional trains connecting Saint-Malo with Rennes, and TGV trains to and from Paris (Gare Montparnasse). The gare is also the regional Gare Routière (bus terminal), with buses to Cancale, Dinan, Dinard, Pontorson (for Mont Saint-Michel) and Rennes. Walk northwest from the Gare along Avenue Louis Martin through the port and soon you'll see the Porte Saint-Vincent medieval city gate into the walled city. On the other side of the Porte Saint-Vincent is the Place Chateaubriand (map). FerriesSaint-Malo - UK FerriesFerryboats docking at the Saint-Malo Naye Ferry Terminal just to the south of Intra-Muros (the historic walled city) connect Saint-Malo to Portsmouth and Weymouth/Poole in southern England, and the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey in the English Channel (La Manche). Ferries Saint-Malo - DinardThe docks for these ferries are on the south side of Intra-Muros, off the Esplanade de la Bourse (map). Compagnie Corsaire operates frequent shuttle ferries between Saint-Malo and Dinard. They'll also take you on a boat tour of the Emerald Bay. More... AirportDinard Bretogne Aéroport, 13 km (8 miles) southwest of Saint-Malo, is the nearest airport, but it is for general (private) aviation only—no flights open to the general public. City Bus & TaxiLocal and regional bus transportation is operated by MAT. You can take Bus 1 or 2 from the Gare de Saint-Malo (Gares stop) to the Intra-Muros stop just outside the city walls, a 5-minute ride (fare: €1.35). More...
