France Travel Planner by Tom Brosnahan & Jane Fisher   Propriano, Corsica Guide
Propriano, 70 km (43 miles) southeast of Ajaccio, is a popular boating and yacht port.

Arrive in Propriano with a reserved mooring and you can enjoy this town at its best. Arrive by car and you'll discover that Propriano, 70 km (43 miles, 1.5 hours) southeast of Ajaccio, is essentially a one-main-street town with very limited parking.

In summer, when the town's year-round population swells from 3200 to 32,000, visitors who arrive in cars must park them outside the town and go to the center on shuttle buses.

Propriano is a pretty-enough town, though cramped. The Plage de Lido nearby is filled in summer except for the few visitors enjoying the cool atmosphere of the Église Notre Dame de la Misericorde.

You can make excursions to the nearby towns of Campomoro and Sartène—preferably by boat.

Transport

Ajaccio is the nearest major transport point, with its busy airport and ferryboat docks. Propriano is served by bus.
