Dunkirk 80 km (50 miles, 1-hour drive) northwest of Lille, 43 km (27 miles, 35 minutes) east of Calais, and 302 km (188 miles, 3.2 hours) north of Paris, is connected to Calais and Lille by train and highway, and to Dover, England by ferryboat. TrainGoing to Dunkirk by train, you'll probably go via Lille, unless you're coming from Calais. Both cities offer TER regional trains. A few TGV and express TER trains from Lille-Europe can get you to Dunkirk in as little as 32 minutes, though most trains depart Lille-Flandres, make up to eight stops, and take slightly over an hour for the journey. From Calais there are about four TER trains daily, taking between 36 and 43 minutes for the journey. All trains arrive at the Gare de Dunkerque SNCF, next to the city bus terminus (Espace DK'Bus) southwest of the city center (map).
