The Salons Venetiens, or Venetian Rooms, of the Musée des Arts Forains, transport you to the romantic city of Venice. With gondolas decorated in gold and horses with feather boas flying through the air, there's a festive, carnival atmosphere throughout. Enjoy a gondola ride as you let your imagination transport you in time and space. In the large ball room you'll be greeted by the Doge of Venice, and entertained by opera singers—beautiful automatons who serenade you from on high. From the outside, you'll notice the back half of a horse that seems to be charging into the building. Where's the front part? Hmm... As with the other parts of the Musée des Arts Forains, you must schedule your visit in advance and make a reservation. Details and a link to the site are here. Equally delightful (and part of the same guided visit) are the Musée des Arts Forains (Museum of Fairground Arts) and the Théâtre du Merveilleux. (Note that Musée des Arts Forains is the name of the overall museum, as well as one specific building/set of exhibits.)
