Paris Travel Planner   Flower Market, Paris, France
Paris has a daily flower market that becomes a bird market on Sundays!

 Marché aux Fleurs, Paris

Paris is well known for its markets, and when we think of them we think of wonderful fresh produce. Covered markets, open air markets, and market streets all provide delights for the senses, with their beautiful colors and delightful aromas.

Most markets will include some flower vendors, but if you really want flowers, head to the Marché aux Fleurs on the Île de la Cité.

Tucked in a small area along the Seine, the Marché aux Fleurs has all sorts of flowers and plants. It's a charming place to wander and enjoy whatever blooms are in season.

On Sundays the bird vendors come, and it becomes a bird market, the Marché aux Oiseaux. You'll see all sorts of birds, from small parakeets to large birds of prey, and everything in between. There are still plenty of flower vendors open on Sunday.

A smaller flower market takes place on the steps of the Église de la Madeleine. In addition, there are many florists in the city. And of course, Paris is full of parks and gardens that have wonderful flower displays in season. But the Marché aux Fleurs is open all year.

After some busy sightseeing at Notre-Dame, the Sainte-Chapelle, or the Conciergerie (all on Île de la Cité), wander over to the flower market for a refreshing break!
