Train

The TGV Atlantique line connects Paris and Bordeaux through Poitiers, making connections to those two important cities fast and easy.

TGV trains connect Paris's Gare de Montparnasse directly with the Gare de Poitiers - Centre in less than two hours. The Gare serves TGV, express, and regional TER Poitou-Charentes trains.

Bus

City bus transport within greater Poitou is operated by Vitalis. Numerous bus routes connect the Gare de Poitiers (bus stops: Gare Léon Blum or Gare Grand Cerf), at the bottom of the hill, with the historic city center at the top of the hill: Lignes 1, 3, 11, 16, 17 and others.

Regional buses connecting the cities and towns of the département of Vienne (of which Poitou is the capital) are run by the Ligne de Vienne.
