Where to eat if you're on the Boulevard Haussman or near the Opéra Garnier? Maybe you're going to see a performance at the Opéra Garnier, or shopping at some of the large department stores Printemps or Galeries Lafayette. You may also be exploring the wonderful covered passageways that run off the Boulevard Montmartre. Try the Brasserie Printemps if you want to step back in time and eat in an elegant setting. This beautiful domed restaurant in the Printemps department store offers delicious lunches and a wonderful ambience. Its marvelous stained glass dome is a must-see. There are also several more informal restaurants in both Printemps and the nearby Galeries Lafayette. The Deli-Cieux, on the 9th floor of Printemps, is an informal cafeteria-style restaurants that offers a selection of light snacks and sandwiches, with the added benefit of fabulous views of Paris. The Lafayette Caffé, on the 6th floor of Galeries Lafayette, is a self-service restaurant with a wide range of choices, from salads to oysters to steaks, as well as an elegant selection of desserts. Even the wine and beer are self-service. And you get a nice view of the Eiffel Tower too. It's one of about a dozen restaurants in the Galeries Lafayette, so you have a wide choice. You could also head to one of the nearby famous Parisian Covered Passages, such as the Passage Jouffroy or the Passage des Panoramas and enjoy one of the restaurants there. These charming 19th century covered shopping streets still offer a variety of cafés and eclectic shops. If you want to explore farther afield, you could head to the Montmartre area and explore its restaurants.
