Airport BusesAirport buses make the most value-for-money sense for single travelers and perhaps some couples. If your travel party is three or more people, other options such as private transfers and taxis offer greater comfort and speed, and better value for money, as three or four bus fares may approach the cost of traveling by private car and driver. Le-Bus Direct airport busLe-Bus Direct, formerly Les Cars Air France (Air France airport buses) shuttle between Orly Airport, central Paris, and Charles de Gaulle Airport every 30 minutes, every day—but watch out for traffic. TaxiThe safest and best way to go by taxi is to book your taxi in advance (for up to three passengers). You'll know the price, and where to meet your driver, in advance, and you'll go straight to your hotel. More... Whatever you do, don't use an unauthorized taxi! More... Tram or Bus to the MétroYou can take the RATP T7 tram between Orly Airport and the Villejuif-Louis Aragon Métro Line M7 station (map) every 8 to 15 minutes for only 1.90€. From the Métro station you can continue to anywhere else in Paris for the cost of a single Métro ticket. The journey takes about 45 minutes, so it is not the fastest way to make the trip, though it is the cheapest. RATP Bus 183 takes you between Orly Airport and the Métro Line M7 station at Porte de Choisy in about 40 minutes for 2€. From the Métro station you can continue to anywhere else in Paris for the cost of a single Métro ticket. Bus 183 operates about every 15 to 40 minutes. Private Transfer ServicesIf I'm going to travel by car-and-driver from Charles de Gaulle Airport into Paris, I prefer a private transfer service to a taxi: —You know the transfer car will be there. You have contact information if it is not. —You know what the fare will be, and there's no cost to make a reservation. —You can expect a high standard of service because there is a company standing behind private transfer services, not just a driver. MyDriver by SixtThe most comfortable and hassle-free way to go is with a private airport transfer. Sixt, the German car rental/hire company, offers an excellent airport transfer service called MyDriver: you book your transfer online, your driver meets you at the airport arrivals area holding a sign bearing your name, helps with your luggage, and drives you in a late-model German car or van to your destination. It's particularly convenient and good value for groups of three to five travelers. More... RER Suburban TrainsOrlyVal & RER Suburban TrainTake the OrlyVal airport shuttle tram (9.30€) to the Antony station on RER Line B, then speed into central Paris—or even all the way to Charles de Gaulle Airport—quickly and easily.
